Summer Food Service Schedule at OTES

RSU34 will be providing meals again this summer, and one of the locations will be Old Town Elementary School.  Kids who are here for Virtual Summer School can certainly take advantage of the free meals if they wish.  Breakfast is served from 8:00-8:30am and lunch is served from 11:30-11:55am during the dates listed below.  Even though we don't open for VSS until 9:00, students who would like to get breakfast before 8:30 can hang out until the library opens up (and if we happen to be in early ourselves, we'll open up early for these students).  Below are the dates that breakfast and lunch will be served at OTES:

Tuesday-Thursday from July 12-August 4th.

Please note that some of these dates are NOT dates that align with VSS.  Virtual Summer School's schedule can be found on the bottom right of this blog.

VSS Score Card

The VSS Score Card will help you keep track of how many baseballs you've earned and what you will earn for prizes.  You can print one out from home by downloading the score card that was emailed to your parents or you can find one in the "About" section in Google Classroom.  You can also stop in the library at OTES to pick up a copy.

Finding Your Weekly Points

Usually by Tuesday after the due date I will have scores posted for the previous week.  Here's how you can find your scores on Google Classroom.

First... If an assignment says "returned" in the top right corner, that means your score has been posted.

Second...Open the assignment.  In the top right corner you will see how many points you earned (in the example below the student earned 105 out of a possible 130 points.

Finally, below that there is a place where private comments are kept.  This is where I will break down your points for you.  You'll be able to see how many points you earned for each assignment that week.  You'll also see whether or not you earned a baseball, how many baseballs you have, and what level you are on.  In the example below, the student earned a baseball because they had at least 80 points this week.  It was their first baseball, which means that they've hit a single so far.

If you think there is a mistake, please comment back or have your parents email me and I'll take a look.

Hit a Single this Week!

You can hit a single by earning your first baseball this week!  You need to complete enough assignments to earn at least 80 points in week 1 to get your first baseball.  Hitting a single means that you'll earn a certificate for participating in Virtual Summer School.  Your next step would be hitting a DOUBLE and getting an invitation to a pizza party by earning at 3-4 baseballs throughout the summer.  Five baseballs means you've hit a TRIPLE and have earned 1 ticket into the grand prize drawing.  If you are able to earn all 6 baseballs throughout the summer, that's a HOME RUN and you get a second entry in the grand prize drawing.

Grand prizes this year include a popcorn party for your class, extra recess for your class, DQ gift cards, Kindle Fire tablets, and Chromebook laptops!!!
