More Bonus Tickets

We're having another real busy day here in the OTES library and computer lab.  I've had some time to look through everyone's progress during this first week and am excited to award some more Bonus Tickets!

Compass Learning - I noticed lots of people starting to use their Compass Learning accounts this week.  A few reminders, have your child check their score after each activity and make sure it was at least 80%.  They can re-take the assignment if their score was lower.  Ethyn L. and Isaac V.P.  will both be earning bonus tickets this week for Compass Learning.  Great job guys!

Google Docs - I've been having a great time reading the new submissions in Google Docs.  Remember to continue checking the blog for new writing ideas if you're getting stuck on things to write about.  You can easily find the different writing idea posts by clicking the "Writing Ideas" link on the right side of this blog.  I'm giving out 2 bonus tickets for Google Docs this week as well.  Cassie K. will earn one for typing a very detailed and interesting account of her trip to Bar Harbor.  Heidi S. will also earn a bonus ticket.  She created a great article based on writing idea #4 and wrote about how she became the first woman to win the Olympics on Pluto!  Very exciting story!

Reading Tracker - We are over 70 books read and submitted so far this summer!  You can keep track of the number of books read on the right side of this blog.  I've also started adding posts about suggested reading titles.  Each of the books I suggest can be found here at the OTES library and can be checked out!  This week's bonus ticket winner in this category is Cathryn A. who read a book that I am very interested in reading called Who Was Steve Jobs.  This is a biography about the great inventer/innovator of things like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and many other things that are a huge part of many people's lives.  I'm not sure if the OTES library has a copy of this book, but I have one in my classroom that I'd be willing to lend out if someone is interested in it!
