Writing Idea #13

This is another writing idea based on a video. The video is an amazing collection of bike tricks performed by a guy named Danny MacAskill. Watch the video, create a Google Doc titled "Bike Tricks Video" then I want you to do 2 things...

1. Write a reflection on the video. What did you think of it? How did it make you feel? Why do you think Danny created this video? What was he hoping the viewers got out of watching it?

and...

2. In just a few words, what do you think the theme of this video is? In other words, what is the creator of the video trying to convey? You work with theme when reading books in school all the time. For example, I could say the theme of the Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems could be Friendship. The theme of Green Eggs & Ham by Dr. Seuss could be Don't be afraid to try new things. What about this video...what's the theme?

This summer you will be collecting magical items. Each week that you earn at least 10 points on your assignments you'll collect a new magical item.

PRIZES:

Level 1 (Hat) - VSS Certificate

Level 2 (Cauldron) - Invitation to a Pizza Party!

Level 3 (Crystal Ball) - One entry into a drawing for extra recess for your class

Level 4 (Wand) - One entry into a drawing for a popcorn party for your class
