Busy First Day, Writing Idea #4, Bonus Tickets

Wow, what a busy first day in the library today!  We had 10 students come in to use the computer lab for Compass Learning and Google Docs today.  Even more students came to check out books from the library.  Meanwhile, we have 70 students registered for VSS and lots of activity happening on computers at home as well.

Writing Idea #4
On this day in 1983, Sally Ride became the first woman in space. What would you like to be the first to do? Go into the future and write a newspaper article that tells the world the who, what, when and where of your great accomplishment.  Create a Google Doc titled “The very first person to ever…” for your article.  Include quotes from yourself and other people who know you.

Bonus Tickets
I'll normally give out bonus tickets every Thursday, but I'll give out some bonus tickets today for some work that some kids have been doing since school let out.  I will give out more bonus tickets for this week's work on Thursday.
Compass Learning Bonus Ticket: Aidan R. has completed over 15 activities and has scored an average of 91%!  Great job!
Google Docs Bonus Ticket: Vanessa C. has a fantastic summer diary started.  She has included lots of details to make her entries very exciting to read!
Reading Bonus Ticket: Keely B. earns this week's bonus ticket for the reading tracker.  She submitted a wonderful entry for a book called You Were Loved Before You Were Born.  I loved the personal connections that Keely included in her summary!

Great job to our 3 students who earned bonus tickets this week.  Keep up the great work everyone!
